Ledger.com/Start — Official Onboarding Hub OFFICIAL ONBOARDING · LEDGER.COM/START

Your Secure Gateway
to Crypto Ownership.

Set up your Ledger hardware wallet through the verified official portal. No shortcuts. No third‑party links. Just you, your device, and your keys. 01

Inspect the Box

Verify the tamper‑evident seal is intact. A genuine Ledger never ships with a pre‑written recovery phrase or PIN. If you find one, stop immediately and contact support [citation:2][citation:4]. 02

Download Ledger Wallet™

Get the official companion app (formerly Ledger Live) only from ledger.com. Desktop or mobile — never from a search ad or unsolicited email [citation:5][citation:10]. 03

Generate Your Keys

Connect the device, set your own PIN (8 digits recommended), and write down the 24‑word Secret Recovery Phrase by hand. It will never be shown again [citation:2][citation:9]. 04

Verify & Transact

Always confirm addresses and transaction details on the Ledger’s secure screen. What you see on the device is what you sign — zero trust in the host computer [citation:3][citation:13].

Ready to take self‑custody?

Begin the official setup flow at Ledger.com/Start. Your private keys never leave the Secure Element. Go to Ledger.com/Start → (This is a static demonstration page. Type the URL manually in your browser.) ⚠️ CRITICAL SECURITY DISCLAIMER — READ BEFORE PROCEEDING 1. Phishing & fake portals. This HTML document is an educational mockup, not an official Ledger property. The only legitimate onboarding domain is ledger.com/start (or ledger.com). Never enter your recovery phrase into any website, pop‑up, or chat. Ledger will never ask for your 24 words or PIN [citation:2][citation:4]. 2. Pre‑configured devices are compromised. If your new device boots directly to a PIN prompt or shows a recovery phrase card in the box, do not use it. Contact Ledger support immediately. A genuine device always starts with “Welcome… Press right button” [citation:2][citation:9]. 3. No warranty & limitation of liability. Ledger’s official terms state that the services and hardware are provided “as is” without warranties of merchantability or fitness. Ledger shall not be liable for any loss of crypto assets, data, or profits arising from device misuse, phishing, or failure to follow official setup instructions [citation:8]. 4. You are your own bank. The 24‑word Secret Recovery Phrase is the only backup of your private keys. Ledger does not store it, cannot recover it, and will never have access to it. Loss or disclosure of the phrase means irreversible loss of funds [citation:2][citation:4]. 5. Blind signing risks. When interacting with smart contracts, always prefer clear‑signing. If the device shows an “E8” or blind‑signing warning, you may be authorizing a malicious transaction that could drain your wallet [citation:3][citation:13].
